Creative firm expands its Pearl District footprint

A Portland creative firm whose portfolio includes work for Google, Microsoft, Nintendo and others has expanded its Portland footprint in the Pearl District.

R2C Group, a $400 million creative and media agency, already had its Portland headquarters office at 207 N.W. Park Ave. In May, the firm added another office above local restaurant Park Kitchen at 422 N.W. 8th Ave.

The new space, dubbed the “Creative Kitchen” due to its location, will be home to R2C Group’s creative and duplication departments. R2C’s Portland office now spans across three different buildings.

Founded in Portland nearly 20 years ago by Michelle Cardinal and Tim O’Leary, R2C now has three other offices across the country, including in San Francisco, Philadelphia and Providence, Rhode Island.

Now chairman of the company, O’Leary is also president of O’Cardinal Properties, a real estate investment company that specializes in restoring historic and architecturally significant buildings in Portland. Among the company’s holdings are the Bistro Building at Northeast 29th and Alberta, the Lemon Hotel at Northwest Park and Everett and O’Merrick 401 at Northeast 28th and Flanders.

O’Leary also purchased the Bakery Building at 1403 S.E. Stark St. this spring for $2 million and is renovating the building for creative office and retail spaces.
